Bukit Gombak Park

Tucked into the hillside of Bukit Gombak Park, this nature-inspired playground combines adventure and agility-based play for children of all ages. Featuring a thrilling embankment slide, climbing rocks, timber walkways, and balance elements, it encourages active exploration and motor skill development. Using natural materials and a hillside layout, the playground blends seamlessly with its green surroundings to provide a fun, engaging space for imaginative outdoor play.

How we brought it to life

We focused on creating a natural, movement-driven play environment that complements the park’s terrain. By integrating wooden obstacles and a hillside slide, we encouraged exploration, balance, and confidence through play, while maintaining harmony with the lush landscape.

The embankment slide takes full advantage of the park’s slope, turning the hill into an exciting play feature. Children can climb up natural steps or rocks to reach the top, then zoom down the slide surrounded by greenery. This clever use of elevation adds variety to the play experience while enhancing the playground's connection to its environment.

Timber climbing posts, rock steps, and balance beams form a rustic obstacle course, helping children develop coordination, strength, and spatial awareness. These natural play elements invite open-ended exploration and imaginative play, encouraging kids to challenge themselves in different ways. The playground is also visually harmonious with its surroundings, using materials and colors that reflect the park’s natural beauty.

Set on the scenic slopes of Bukit Gombak Park, this playground was designed to engage children with nature through movement and imaginative play. The embankment slide offers thrilling downhill fun, while timber climbing elements and balancing obstacles foster coordination and adventure. Thoughtfully integrated into the landscape, the playground blends active fun with organic textures, making it a beautiful space for kids to explore and families to enjoy the outdoors together.

A highlight of the Bukit Gombak Park playground is a green slide which has been built into the slope. Kids can climb up a flight of stairs or scale a slope to reach the top of the slide before letting gravity take them down around
